about

I find stories, create them, share them. I write, produce, perform, talk, collaborate, and dance :)

I'm currently writing a book about recent LGBTQ+  history, producing the Free Sex podcast, and producing various podcast series in partnership with various organisations, through my company Aunt Nell. I'm open to new creative collaborations!

My work has won numerous awards, from Podcast of the Year and Best Sex and Relationships Podcast at the British Podcast Awards to the Polari First Book Prize for my book, Deep Sniff: A History of Poppers and Queer Futures. I was supported by Spread The Word with a London Writers Award in 2019-20.

I'm the writer and producer of The Film We Can't See podcast series for the BBC. I'm one of the three producers behind The Log Books, a podcast about LGBTQ+ history named Best New Podcast at the British Podcast Awards 2020.

One major theme of my work is that there is always moral sex and immoral sex, acceptable bodies and rejected ones.

My short stories have been published by Wasafiri, Cipher Press, Smoke magazine and Ways of Falling. I was shortlisted for a Creative Futures Writers' Award in 2019, and won the StorySLAM Live competition in 2012.

My short films have been selected for twelve festivals. My stage shows Stigma and Triple—Double, with Luis Amália, have been programmed in theatres in Madrid and London.

From 2018 to 2022 I was the literature programmer for Fringe! Queer Film and Arts Fest in east London. I have worked as a journalist and social media editor, most recently at The Economist. I left that job in 2019 to build my creative practice.
